During the 17 month trek across Canada, The Push for Change raised $570,000 for youth homeless prevention! Thank you for your support!

Fundraising dollars went to Raising the Roof in support of The Upstream Project, a school based, youth homeless prevention model.

A portion of funds raised was also used to support local initiatives:

Dollars raised at specific events hosted by emergency service providers was split 50/50 between The Push for Change and the event host to help reach homeless youth in cities we trekked through.

WE INVEST IN PREVENTION!

Homelessness is entered through a predictable path. Innovative ways to engage youth who are at the crossroads of choosing homelessness or NOT must be created. Addressing this issue is complex, but research has pointed to three key areas:

• Prevention
• Emergency Services
• Sustainable housing

The Push for Change in partnership with Raising the Roof Canada,  A Way Home and Canadian Observatory on Homelessness (COH) are working to implement a Prevention Framework called “The Upstream Project” to be used in communities across Canada.  Please visit Raising the Roof for updates and progress on The Upstream Project.
